About Free The Way

Free the Way is a drop in centre for anyone with an addiction, their families and carers.

Free The Way was formed from a base of parents of addicts in the Seaham Area who felt they had no-one to talk to. The centre is based in the centre of Seaham and since forming the group has attracted a lot of media attention nationwide and is now a successful part of the community.
Free The Way is not a refuge for people to take drugs but rather a place where they can feel comfortable to ask for and take advice on their problem. Parents and carers can also benefit from the experienced staff who can advise both through their own experiences and training.
Our main purpose is to provide care, counselling and support to the people of Seaham (and surrounding areas) for the addictive community and their families, with the long term aim of re-educating and rehabilitating individuals back into the family and community so that they can become productive and responsible members of society.
